『My Action Plan』

(800~1500字でまとめていただく様式です。)

I’m going to introduce about my Action Plan.
First, I’m going to write about a goal I chose and reasons why I chose.
After that, I’m going to write about Current Statues, Our Ideal Future, and Action Plan.

I chose “Good Health and Well-being”.
First, let me introduce this goal.
Its mission’ means "Healthy lives for everyone, babies, students, and even seniors.”
It covers many things, like fighting diseases and supporting mental health.
The reason why I chose is my personal background.
My mother is a pharmacist, so I have many opportunities to learn about healthcare.
This made me want to know more about the global situation and the SDGs.

To understand the importance of this goal, we must first look at the reality in Japan.
We face four major challenges.
First, the aging society.
Japan’s aging rate is among the highest in the world.
By 2025, it is estimated that 30% of our population will be 65 or older.
Because of the aging society, medical costs are rising. We need to save our system.
Second, there is a serious shortage of workers.
As the working population declines, we lack enough personnel to support our seniors.
Third, we must address mental health.
While Japan has a long average life expectancy, we also have the highest suicide rate among G7 countries.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, suicides among young people and women have increased, showing an urgent need for mental support.
Finally, there is a "Health Gap.“
Although we live long, there is a gap between "life expectancy" and "healthy lifespan"—about 9 years for men and 12 years for women.
This means many people spend their final decade requiring constant care.

What kind of society can we create if we achieve Goal 3 ??
It will bring significant benefits to everyone.
Socially, we can remove health disparities.
We can eradicate infectious diseases and significantly reduce infant and maternal mortality rates.
Most importantly, we will achieve a society where everyone enjoys both mental and physical well-being.
Economically, a healthy society is a strong society.
If people are healthy, productivity increases, and the economy grows.
It will reduce the burden of medical expenses and help us establish a sustainable social security system.
We can ensure a safe working environment for all generations by promoting health-centered policies.

Now, what are the concrete steps we should take ??
I have divided my action plan into two parts.
First, for our personal well-being:
Maintain a healthy lifestyle: Eat a balanced diet, exercise moderately, and get enough sleep.
Prevention: Make it a habit to wash your hands and get vaccinations. Regular health checkups lead to early detection of illnesses.
Safety and Mind: Obey traffic rules to reduce accidents and take care of your mental health. Seek help whenever you feel overwhelmed.
Second, for our community and the world:
Support and Volunteer: Donate to organizations supporting refugees or children and participate in local welfare activities.
Spread Awareness: Learn the facts about Goal 3 and share them with your friends and family.
Environmental Care: Reducing our environmental impact through waste separation and energy conservation also protects the environment we live in, which ultimately contributes to our health.

In conclusion, Goal 3 is not just about medical science; it is about how we live our lives and support each other.
Influenced by my mother's work, I have realized that our health is connected to the world.
Small changes in our daily habits can lead to a big change for the future.
Let’s take the first step together today.
