Coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on every nation in terms of education, health, welfare and economy. As scientists and the government corporates to provide sufficient vaccines to everyone, we still need to have a ton of arguments beside this outbreak. I personally think that every little step will make big differences which lead to a sustainable society even in hard times.
My biggest concern during coronavirus is that online class might foster an education gap. According to the ぼらぷら document, although we have achieved the global primary education completion rate to be 70% in 2000 to 84% in 2018, it is said that 1.6 billion children can not go to school as of July 2020. Drawing from my experience, I did not get motivated to attend online class and do assignments. Moreover, Some of my classmates could not participate in class due to the lack of internet environment and electric devices. Even though I live in America which is concerned as a developed country, students struggled to catch up with the current situation. So, what would happen to poor and developing countries? Kids do not have easy access to the internet which contributes to learning loss. What I can do for this problem is to look for volunteer like ぼらぷら or hold study session by using zoom, google meets and skype.
Reduced inequality is also necessary to accomplish sustainable development. We must protect those socially vulnerable including women, poor family and people with disabilities. 2020 was a historic year as people finally realized how police treat criminals inequality based on skin color. I can post famous quotes or own experiments related to racism on SNS to be aware of these issues.
