However, we Japanese live in a very well-educated country. The internet is also widespread. In other words, you can find out on TV programs and SNS. But what we can do in Japan is You really only know. To learn the details of the problem, you have to go to the site, talk to the local people, and actually experience it for yourself. The second reason I think it shouldn't be.
The second reason is that We do not know the feelings of those who live in those problems. Have you ever had a fight with someone? And what do you do to make up at that time? I think Many people will think about the feelings of him or her. By doing so, you will be able to know the his or her way of thinking, broaden your horizons, and think objectively.In the same way, it is very important to know the feelings of the parties when solving a problem. Problems such as what the people living in the problem are having trouble with and the priority of what should be solved. Because I can see the essence of. So I think it is necessary to actually go abroad and experience it.
However, some may wonder if online interaction is bad. In conclusion, that's not enough. This is the third reason. Through this volunteer activity, I had an online international exchange and learned about the current state of education in Cambodia. I was able to have a conversation with local people and gain a very valuable experience. And I was able to have more interest and a sense of crisis about the SDGs. In this way, even online exchanges can be an opportunity to solve problems and get to know the feelings of the local people. I wonder if that information is all about the problem. I think it's different. The whole thing is something you can't see unless you actually feel it. So, after all, if you really want to solve the problem, go abroad. I think you should see it.
For these reasons, I cite going abroad as one of the SDGs initiatives. Rather, I think we should go abroad to work on the SDGs. However, since the new coronavirus is prevalent now, I think it would be good to make the most of the things around us to deepen our understanding of the SDGs.For example, reading books in the library, getting into the habit of watching news programs, applying for volunteers organized by NGOs like Mr. Borapura, there are many things we can do now. However, the time will come when I can definitely go. It is important to prepare from now on so that I will not be in trouble at that time, feel more things with my skin when I can go, and devote myself to solving problems.
