『How I contribute to SDGs 』
In the future, I would like to contribute in building a Japanese society easier for foreigners to fit in. Since I am interested in international relations, and believe that the people from other countries will benefit the Japanese society, I want to bring a change to the society, so that the people from multiple nations can live without any troubles.
One of the reasons why I want to create a better suitable society for foregin people is because an increase in population is an advantage for the economy. Since lack of workers is a serious matter for Japan, more people living in Japan will certainly help the Japanese economy to revitalize, which is goal 8 in SDGs. I hope Japan will overcome this long ongoing recession with the fresh and diverse young people. The second reason is that interaction with people from different backgrounds will be an advantage for the goal 4, quality education for the future generation in Japan. At the same time, it will also become an opportunity for foregin people to improve their Japanese skills. Understanding cultural differences and background will raise awareness to the SDGs as it makes people think about the world. In addition, in my experience I have lived in the United States and Hong Kong in total for 5 years, and got to know how differences in background leads the group. I truly believe that the SDGs is one of the problems that requires people around the globe to counter and that, with people from different countries, it will be easier to reach the essence of the problem. The third reason is that building a free and open Japan could build a better relationship with the nations around the world. If the attitude of welcoming more foreigners is conveyed to the rest of the world, more people will come to Japan, and at the same time more people will leave Japan. These exchanges will help to achieve goal 16 to make a peaceful world. In order to do this, I would like to volunteer in the future, where I could help to teach japanese. Just like what I experienced as a volunteer using zoom. Furthermore, the prejudice against the foreigners will be a challenge for Japan to overcome. I personally believe that Japanese people sometimes unintentionally act rude toward foreigners. Therefore, if people are used to seeing more foreigners, The situation will improve. I will also try to be careful to see if anyone is in need of help, especially foreigners.
In conclusion, I would like to contribute to SDGs by making Japan more open to people around the globe, where it is much easier for those people to fit in compared to now. If this is achieved, it will greatly benefit the Japanese society, it will bring more young people who are energetic, ready to work which can lead to economic growth. There will be more language education. Also, it will connect the nations in the world more closely which is necessary to create peaceful world.
