SDGs have become a hot topic in the world in recent years. Even in Japan, I have more opportunities to hear about it at schools and in the media. The SDGs are the 17 goals that countries around the world must solve in order to create a sustainable society. Japan's SDGs have been achieved 17th in the world, and goals such as 4. QUALITY EDUCATION and 16. PEACE, JUSTICE AND STRONG INSTITUTIONS have already been achieved and are highly evaluated around the world. However, on the other hand, there are some things that must be worked on to solve the problem rather than the world.

The first is gender equality. The index of gender equality is the ratio of female members of parliament.
According to 2020 data, the ratio of female parliamentarians in the world is 25.5%, but the ratio of female parliamentarians in Japan is not only 9.9%, which is less than half, but also from 10.2% in 2019. It is down 0.3 points and there is no improvement.
In Japan as well, companies are making efforts to increase the number of female directors and equalize the ratio of men and women hired, but I think the Diet, which is the top of the country, must improve the ratio of men and women in the Diet. And I think that the actions of not only countries and companies but also our people are important for creating a gender-equal society. It is very important to respect each other and cooperate with each other regardless of gender, rather than deciding that "this is what a woman does" and "this is what a man does".

The two are garbage problems. Japan has a clean image that the amount of garbage falling in the city is less than in other countries, but according to the Union of Kansai Governments, 3 million plastic shopping bags and about 6.1 million pieces of vinyl are sunk in Osaka Bay. Environmental problems are becoming more serious, as revealed by the survey. Even in the area where I live, I often see garbage dumped in rice fields and roads.
The garbage problem is of course important to the national policy, but I think it is necessary for each and every citizen to be aware of it and take action to solve the problem. I think it is important to get rid of the trash that you put out yourself and to provide an opportunity to pick up trash with the local people in order to reduce the trash from the city.

In addition to the two goals I have listed, there are still many goals that need to be resolved in the future. However, many of them can be solved if we are conscious of each one and act for the solution. In order for each person to become aware of the SDGs, schools, the media, and those who already know about the SDGs need to actively promote the SDGs. As one of the people who spread the SDGs, I would like to actively talk about the SDGs with my friends and parents and study the problems that are occurring in the current world.
