SDGs are international goals that aim for a sustainable and better world by 2030. Out of the 17 goals, I focused on two: Quality education and Reduce inequalities . Through this training, I once again felt that it is not a matter of course that we are able to receive an education.
It is estimated that there are 61 million children in the world who do not have access to education. The reason for this is that the environment for learning is not in place, such as the lack of teachers and the lack of schools nearby. Due to family circumstances, such as having to work to support the family budget, they cannot commute. And the main reason is that they cannot go to school because of war or civil war. If this situation continues, many people in developing countries will not be able to read, write, or calculate even when they become adults, and as a result, problems such as being unable to obtain stable employment will occur. So what can we do to eliminate inequality and disparity in the world? The educational support I know of in developing countries is the installation of wells and water tanks in schools to make it easier for them to go to school without having to go far to draw water, and set up toilets in schools. I do not think it is not easy for each of us to do this kind of activity on our own. So I think it would be good to send supplies to children who can go to school and children who can’t go to school . For example, when graduating from elementary school or junior high school, we will recycle textbooks and notebooks that are no longer used to make new textbooks and notebooks, or give stationery, school bags, and backpacks that are no longer used. I think this activity will make it easier for people with tight household budgets and poor people to go to school and receive education in developing countries.I think this activity is possible if each elementary school and junior high school calls on the students and collects them. And the other one is teaching English and math online to school children in developing countries .This activity benefits both them and us.We can know the current state of education in the world, and we can be grateful that we are receiving education as a matter of course.In addiction teaching is a very good experience for us so I think it will be for the future.Also, what I can do now is spread this training and overseas volunteer activities that Volunteer plat home is doing so that many people can learn about the current situation in the world and that as many people as possible will take action to achieve the SDGs. We must all work together to achieve the SDGs. Now is the time to connect with the world through SNS. I would like to spread the word about SDGs so that people not only in Japan but around the world can learn about SDGs.
