『How to reduce poverty.』

According to the World Bank, 689 million people spend their lives under $1.90 a day, however the statistics of poverty rate are declining to 8.6% from 9.1% in 2017. So How can we reduce the poverty ratio?
First of all, why does poverty arise? Well, many of the countries where poverty occurs mainly have historical backgrounds. For example, autocratic powers have formed a political base to govern formerly on colonial territories. Ethnic differences also caused civil wars and conflicts. Cambodia is one of those countries. As a result, there are differences in benefits among people, resulting in poverty and disparities.
Disasters are also one of the problems of poverty. In developing countries, it is difficult to receive assistance due to insufficient systems and funds for disaster countermeasures. As a result, jobs are lost, education is lost, the environment is further deteriorated, and health is impaired. Without jobs, the economy of the country will suffer. Daily life becomes even more difficult. Money will go to the rich or the capitalists. Therefore workers will be poorer. In education, they cannot learn the morals and rules of society, not just study. Therefore, they don’t know what to do to get a job, and they can’t even take action. Also, dreams and hopes for the future are lost. In terms of health, if they cannot secure safe water and food, their health will suffer. In some cases, just filling your stomach can lead to malnutrition. In poor countries, people do not have enough money to access medical insurance services when they get sick. Of course, you can’t do all of the above if your health is compromised. No job, no education, poor health leads to being poorer. If you get stuck in such a swamp, it will be difficult to get out of there.
So what can we do to reduce the poverty ratio?
What we as developed countries can do is donate as much as possible or participate in volunteer activities like Volunteer Platform. By actually interacting with local people, you can feel the current situation
first-hand and think deeply about thr problems. As personally, we can spread the information about the poverty countries via social networks, such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
To reduce poverty is not easy, surely we have to achieve 17 goals for SDGs by 2030. I think the real starting point will be after all 17 SDGs goals have been achieved. Unless each one of us is aware of what we can do, or, what the national and local governments can do, and most importantly, we must become one, I don’t think there will be a clue to solving the problem.
I believe that the first step in solving the problem of poverty is to think of the current situation as one’s own problems . When thinking about the poverty situation , I think it is also important to consider what would happen if my family were put in such a situation.
