『Education for all children!』
I heard that conflicts, religious wars, terrorism, etc. are related to national character. But I think it's different. We write, speak, get a job as a matter of course, and pursue our dreams as a matter of course. However, that is because Japan's education system is well-developed. In a world without education, we don't even know what kind of life is commonplace. How can they, who can only do manual labor and have no choice, complain of this pain? Without knowledge, they have no choice but to fight by force. It is impossible to put this into the word "nationality". There are many lives that could have been saved if there was education. From these things, I think that the spread of education should be given top priority. I would like to make three specific statements about the benefits of education.
First of all, by learning a new language and knowledge, they can expand the range and possibilities of their future works. In Japan, everyone can receive secondary education as a matter of course. It has even become mandatory. But in many of developing countries, there is no environment for children to study. Therefore, unlike us Japanese, they cannot speak, read or write. What will happen to those children in the future? Can they have dreams and possibilities about their profession like we do? It is difficult. Women who are not physically fit have difficulty even choosing the path of work, and their self-actualization is limited. Also, there are few opportunities to know the importance of education, which creates a negative loop of children working. If education becomes widespread, the range of occupations for children will expand. It would be hopeful for everyone to live by choosing their profession equally. For that purpose, it is indispensable to create an environment where children can receive education.
Secondary, by gaining knowledge, people who live in developing countries will acquire technological capabilities and improve the infrastructure in their countries. In fact, millions of children have died due to inadequate knowledge of water supplies and satellites. It causes food safety, leading to hunger and malnutrition. Without clean water, you can't even take a bath, your physical hygiene deteriorates, and you get sick. All of these are also thought to be caused by a lack of education. Knowledge about water and techniques for developing baths and toilets will be difficult to acquire without education. Developed countries such as Japan should provide technology to developing countries.
Third, wars and conflicts are reduced. This is because the spread of education in the country will increase the economic power and productivity of the country, and it will be possible to fight in the market instead of war. Also, I think that the power of dialogue will grow. Currently, there is a large difference in technological capabilities between countries, so developing countries are unilaterally providing assistance to developing countries. If the technological capabilities are equal, the number of countries that can develop on their own will increase, and the number of terrorism caused by dependence on other countries will decrease. From these facts, it is considered that the promise of interactive problem solving requires the elimination of inequality between countries through international cooperation.
Have you ever thought about it? The chocolate we usually eat is made from cacao grown by children who can't even go to school. We should be grateful that we have a duty to spread education to all children and that we have a privileged environment today. However, many of us Japanese think that developing countries have nothing to do with them, let alone help developing countries. Isn't it irresponsible for children to work and eat what they make? When you hear the word "international cooperation", many people think that there is nothing they can do. However, if you wait for an opportunity to cooperate, that opportunity will not come forever. The opportunity is created by taking the news reported in the news seriously and looking for ways to cooperate. Rather, there will be plenty of opportunities for cooperation. It seems that the reduction of plastic waste, participation in elections, local production for local consumption, etc. are not related, and they are related to international issues. All issues exist individually and will not be addressed. All the problems are connected somewhere.
