『"Learning about SDGs and dreams for the future"』
Why learn about SDGs? I participated in a summer school in Japan.
I met people who were working on various things. Some people may be interested in SDGs. The theme of the summer school is "Unleashing the Future." I am very interested in SDGs and international issues, but I have never taken any action towards them. I joined this program because I wanted to change myself.
We gathered opinions from those who participated in the summer school about their interest in the SDGs, why they chose that theme, whether their school or group is working on the SDGs, and what they did to achieve the goals. . The most interesting item in the SDGs is "quality education." Secondly, they are concerned about eliminating poverty and everyone is working for his SDGs in schools and groups. For example, we teach classes on sexual minorities, organize events on International Women's Day, and participate in projects and extracurricular activities. We have seen firsthand that there are many ways to tackle the SDGs and that we can all contribute to them in some way. Finally, the reason I chose this item and the reason I brought the answer to this question last is because the answer changed the way I think. Since each person has a different way of thinking, I felt that just by having people like this, we could move a little closer to achieving the SDGs. Looking at these opinions, I particularly want to continue working on the issues of ``zero hunger'' and ``eradication of poverty.'' The reason for this is that although there are many goals, for me the ultimate goal is the abundance of the ocean and climate change. problems of living people. How can humans, who are on the brink of death, think about the future of the earth? This is because I believe that we should first create a world where all humankind can live freely and think about the future, and then proceed with things. When I was in elementary school. This school was participating in a company's clothing recycling and reuse♻️ initiative. After participating, I looked at the clothes delivered from developing countries and smiled and thanked them. When I saw the children and adults saying this, my heart was moved. Although there are many people in developing countries who want to go to school but cannot, we were in an environment where we were able to receive compulsory education. It also made me think about how many times I have said, even though it was a small incident, that I don't want to go to school or that I don't enjoy it.
Through this summer school and this program, I decided on my future dreams. My dream was decided when I saw that a person who runs a fashion brand that I respect created a brand that contributed to the SDGs. It means that when you grow up in the future, your work will have a positive impact on the future of Japan and the future of developing countries. It's a job that makes you feel that way. I would like to work in the field of cosmetics development or fashion in the future. Among these, I feel that there are many ways to develop cosmetics, such as delivering safe cosmetics (such as skin protection medicines) that can be distributed to people in developing countries.
I'm glad I participated in this program. thank you very much.
