『Poverty that breaks infrastructure』
Long time ago, I read a book about “I will always write back” which is story about a girl in America and a boy in Zimbabwe. The girl in America had a normal life like we have right now in Japan and there is no trouble or worried for their lives. However, the boy in Zimbabwe was very poor and he couldn’t go to school because he was very poor and his family barely pay a rent for a house and they even struggled to find food for a day. They are so different but they started to write a letter for a school event to each other and a girl in America realize he’s whole family are poor and stated to send money to a boy. Money in America worth thousands of worth in Zimbabwe money. Eventually they helped each other and a boy went to Duke university. From that book, I started to have interest in area of poverty like or Asia. Consideration of SDGs target 9.A, facilitate infrastructure for developing country, I believe upgrading infrastructure system which is like education system will help them to sustainable develop growth in the future. This is the reason I decided to participate in this volunteer. The thing I focused is about infrastructure in each country. The reason people in poverty country are still poor and don’t get enough medical support is because they couldn’t do read or write any language and do easy calicuration. This leads they can’t get a good job and entire family became poor. I estimated that unprepared school environment causes bad education system, so I researched about numbers of students on per teachers and number. As you know, every country that listed above is Africa. I also researched about cost of construction, because building cost is different in developing country and developed country. In result, school in Africa have most students in per teacher and poverty area uses cheapest school. I think there are clear reasons that people in developing country couldn’t study nowadays. Here are the reasons.
1. there is lack of schools.
2. children has to work for their lives.
3. there is no money for school run.
4. No appropriate environment for education.
5. Parents in developing country also lived with no education, so even parents don’t understand the importance of education.
I believe making new schools for developing country is help them for their future. However, it is true that even teachers in developing country don’t know the answer of their study that they are teaching. There is no meaning if teachers are wrong about studies. That means, people in developed country like us should teach teacher first. This is an action that developed country can do right now. We have to find applicant to teach study in developing country and make action. I want to help them in the future locally but for now, I will tell the world that we need a lot of volunteers. I think it is a great action for achieve SDGs target 4 and 9.

SDGsについて自分も協力する人の1部になりたかった。自分の学校がSDGs1位をめざしているから、ぜひ自分もそれに貢献してみたかった。将来の自分の進路に活かしていきたい。
とてもいい経験になってSDGsについても学べるし、カンボジアの子と交流することも出来たし、自分にとって良い経験になった。これからも何か機会があったら自分から率先して行動出来る人になっていきたい。
コンテストがあったらたくさん応募して自分の意見を世界に発信していきたいし、自分の主張を人々に知ってもらえるように貢献していきたい。
